About the Journal
About the Series
What is published here? RUB Research School is the campus-wide institution of all faculties for the support of doctoral researchers and postdocs at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. It offers an interdisciplinary qualification program, individual counseling, and a broad internationalization program under the name Research Around the World.
The conference proceedings published here belong to conferences that were funded by RUB Research School under the umbrella of the Project International Event funding line. The funding lines and the opportunity to publish conference proceedings are open to doctoral researchers from all faculties.
- How are the volumes selected? Every volume that is published here, first undergoes a review process. The editors submit the draft for the design of the conference proceedings together with the application for conference funding to RUB Research School. Here, the application goes through a three-stage review process:
(1) Peer review: One doctoral researcher from the subject area and one from outside the subject area review the application.
(2) Early Career Researchers Board: A postdoc from to the subject area assesses the submitted reviews and makes a funding recommendation for the proposal on the basis of these (cf. Rapporteur at DFG)
(3) Executive Board: The members of the Executive Board make the funding decision on the basis of the reviews and the postdoc’s report. In this process, a decision is also made as to whether the conference proceedings will be included in the RUB Research School series.
- How must the editors of the individual volumes ensure quality? The editors must disclose the following for the review
- which criteria are used to select the contributions
- who selects the contributions (Editorial Board)
