Author Guidelines
For accepted papers: formatting guidelines after acceptance.
For new submissions:
PhiMiSci does not have a word limit and accepts submissions in different lengths and formats (including theoretical articles, reviews, and commentaries). If you are aiming at a specific format, this should be reflected in the title and abstract. While we expect a majority of submissions to be between 4,000 and 10,000 words, we do allow for exceptions as long as the length of an article is justified by its content. If your submission exceeds 12,000 words (excluding references), please contact the editors-in-chief before submitting. Please note that we do not consider manuscripts exceeding 20,000 words for publication.
Please ensure that you do not have any privacy browser plugins activated during the submission process (such as Ghostery), as this may result in fields not being displayed.
PhiMiSci uses double-blind peer review. Please note that PhiMiSci does not allow for more than two rounds of review, with very few exceptions. This means that if you are asked to submit a revised version of your manuscript, this will likely be your only chance to address the reviewers’ concerns. You may receive additional comments and requests for changes from the editors at a later point.
Please indicate in the "Comments for the Editor" box whether you are submitting your manuscript as a contribution to a Special Issue or as a stand-alone article.
When you upload the revised version of your manuscript, please upload a separate file in which you respond to each point raised by the reviewers and explain how you have modified the manuscript. Failure to upload a point-by-point response to reviewers in a separate file may result in your manuscript being rejected.
Please also note that failure to address any editorial comments and requests may lead to the rejection of your manuscript. If your manuscript is accepted for publication, you will be asked to format your manuscript in accordance with our formatting guidelines and guidelines for references. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines will not be published and may be rejected (even if they were initially accepted).
Please note that the editors-in-chief reserve the right to veto the publication of an article even if all reviewers have recommended publication.
